Not only Snapdragon 888: Qualcomm will have more processors to Samsung foundry

The newly released Snapdragon 888 5G SoC finally uses the 5nm process, but unlike Apple A14 and Huawei Kirin 9000, Samsung is responsible for the foundry this time.

According to Qualcomm, Samsung was selected this time because its technology can meet the requirements in terms of technology, cost, and functionality.

In fact, this year’s Snapdragon 750G 5G chip, Snapdragon 690, etc. are all Samsung 8nm, and last year’s Snapdragon 765G is Samsung’s 7nm EUV. They can actually be understood as the outpost of Snapdragon 888. In terms of market response, no problem.

In addition, market news has revealed that all the Snapdragon 400 series processors will also be handed over to Samsung. The Snapdragon 7 series processors in the first quarter of next year may also be seen by Samsung.

Of course, Qualcomm itself has no likes or dislikes for the choice of foundry partners, but based on comprehensive considerations such as chip progress.
