Intel launched an attack on NVIDIA: to grab market share in cloud and data center computing

Although the processor is temporarily behind AMD, Intel will not panic. They are also cutting off some marginal businesses and preparing to refocus on the processor field.

According to the latest reports from foreign media, Intel has also begun to attack NVIDIA. The former company’s Habana Labs business said on Wednesday that it will take time to seize market share in cloud and data center computing from NV, but this week it will cooperate with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The transaction has taken a solid first step.

In December last year, Intel spent approximately US$2 billion to acquire Habana, an artificial intelligence company headquartered in Israel, hoping to expand its artificial intelligence product portfolio to support the data center business.

Habana's chief business officer Eitan Medina (Eitan Medina) said: "We must understand that we are starting from scratch, and NV is 100%." He said that it is very important for AWS to become its first customer.

During the new crown epidemic, the demand for Amazon's cloud computing tools continues to grow. Intel said that the cost performance of these chips will be 40% higher than current graphics processors.
