According to the research company's report, due to the high inventory of cloud computing and enterprise server customers, the price of server memory in Q4 fell by 10-15%, and the price of 32GB DDR4 memory modules has fallen to between US$100-110.

Affected by this, the price of standard DDR4 memory has also fallen by 8-10%, and the price of 8GB memory modules is only between 24.5-25.5 US dollars. On the whole, the price of memory in Q4 has fallen by about 10%.

Regarding the memory outlook in 2021, it was originally expected that it would not be warmed up until the second half of next year, because AMD’s new-generation Milan-based EPYC processors will not be shipped until Q1 next year, and Intel’s Ice Lake-SP servers will have to wait until Q2.

However, the current situation has changed. Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron's three original memory pellet manufacturers have begun to control memory production capacity and reduce shipments. In the Q1 quarter of next year, memory may achieve a balance between supply and demand, even slightly tight, and become in short supply. .

By the Q2 quarter of next year, the memory market will be completely transformed and prices will return to the upward trend.
