New architecture and 10nm SF process Intel confirms that the 12th generation Core will be released next year

If you talk about AMD's success in recent years, outsourcing CPU manufacturing to TSMC is definitely a key factor in their development, which allows them to not have to bear high chip manufacturing investment. But for Intel, although they are also considering outsourcing production, they still have to continue to invest in 7nm, 5nm and 3nm processes.

Intel CEO Si Ruibo recently attended an investor conference and talked about the chip outsourcing issue that the industry is more concerned about. This time he still did not give a clear conclusion, saying that Intel is still considering whether to outsource 7nm chip manufacturing to third parties, and finally decided to It will not be announced until January next year.

However, Si Ruibo emphasized that no matter what kind of decision, Intel's goal is still to maintain its IDM (integrated equipment manufacturer) advantage, not to completely abandon chip manufacturing, and still have to design and produce by itself.

Si Ruibo said, We will continue to invest in the 7nm process, the 5nm process, and the 3nm process. These three things will not change.

However, Si Ruibo did not give the mass production time of the 7nm, 5nm and 3nm processes. Previously, the 7nm process was expected to be mass produced in 2021, but it has been postponed for half a year to a year, and it will be 2022.
