After a frenzy in the first two years, the prices of memory and SSD have plunged for a long time.
However, this calm may soon be broken.
TrendForce’s December forecast report shows that although in the fourth quarter, DRAM memory chips are still showing a downward trend in PC, server, mobile, consumer and other fields, there is a high probability that they will rise in the first quarter of next year.
In fact, stock products such as DDR2, DDR3, and GDDR5 have rebounded in price.
According to this data, server DRAM, GDDR6 video memory, consumer DRAM, etc. will increase prices by up to 8% in the first quarter of next year. PC memory and mobile memory may remain stable without significant fluctuations.
In the current DRAM market, smart phones consume about 40%, servers consume 34%, PCs consume 13%, consumer-grade 8%, and video memory is only 5%.
It is worth mentioning that there was a power outage at the Micron fab at the beginning of the month. Since the 4th, major module fabs and other spot traders have suspended quotations, and it seems that something is brewing.
