Not only will PC memory prices rise, but server memory, specific DDR3/DDR4, mobile DRAM and graphics memory prices will all rise. TrendForce will increase the overall average DRAM price increase in the second quarter from 13-18% to 18-23%. , And the actual increase varies according to the proportion of original DRAM products.
The reason why PC DRAM contract prices rose higher than originally expected in the second quarter was mainly due to the aggressive production targets of major PC OEMs. In addition, the second quarter was already the peak season for notebook production. The production of PC ODMs in the quarter was for notebooks. The total quarterly increase was 7.9%.
On the other hand, reviewing the current development of the epidemic, the penetration rate of vaccines in various countries is still low. Therefore, notebooks will continue to benefit from the drive of remote office and teaching, which will further increase the price of PC DRAM.
As for server memory, in addition to the tight chip supply, demand in the data center, cloud computing and other markets is also stronger than expected. Therefore, it was originally expected that Server DRAM contracts in the second quarter will have a quarterly increase of nearly 20%. Now TrendForce has revised it. Increased to 20-25%.
